After a recent spell of good weather, we were optimistic about a good attendance for our May VW and Porsche enthusiasts meet; and it didn’t disappoint.
A change of layout offered some additional parking opportunities but sadly hid some vehicles and visitors from the glorious evening sun. We’ll be looking at making improvements to this for June’s meet to ensure as many of your vehicles ‘get seen’ as possible, and that you don’t have to queue for a sausage in the shade!
Alongside DJ Brian Mole, we had Francis and Matt from the Heritage Parts Centre Formula Vee race championship, who very kindly brought their race cars down to show them off. These single seaters are powered by a 1300cc single port engine, and produce well over 100bhp; in context they enter into Paddock Hill Bend, the first corner at Brands Hatch clocking almost 110mph!
Another special guest for the night was Kate; whose Bay Window photo booth was parked up, complete with props for those who wanted to dress up and act silly for sixty seconds.
The range of vehicles that come down to see us month in month out is nothing short of marvellous.
Another handful of Porsches ranging from 356’s to 997s, sump scraping Beetles (sorry about the speed humps) a harlequin Mk4 Golf wagon, a super rare Karmann Ghia TC and an early Mini Cooper to name just a few.
If you’d like to get down and enjoy the Heretics meetings, our next event is Thursday 21st June from 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there. Stay tuned for the video for May, coming very soon.
