Held in Subang Jaya in Malaysia, Indra, our man on the ground in SE Asia headed over to LowLife Republic to check it out.
Come Rain or Shine
There were almost 150 cars on show from all corners of the aircooled VW catalogue, and the weather seemed to do nothing to dampen spirits at this inaugural event hosted by the LowLife VW Malaya club.
One benefit from the chosen multistorey car park location was that many cars got to park undercover, and avoid the rain when it came.
Line up low
All show goers were encouraged to pose for photos by the ‘line up’ wall, which was a nice touch and a nod to the ethos behind the team running it.
Go Low or Go Home
With the clubs motto encouraging members to drive inches from the deck, this blue Split, which took the Heritage award, didn’t even clear the ramps to make it up beyond ground level.
There were a couple of water pumpers that made it past security…
What is so brilliant about the VW scene is that these kind of events happen all over the globe – the venue changes, the weather might be different and the local trends may not always tick the cool boxes for you – but the enthusiasm and the friends made through the car scene are all the same regardless.
Simple and Low
We have Mohd Fadhli from simpleandlow to thank for the snaps which capture the spirit of the event perfectly.
Stay tuned for more events from our friends around the world, coming soon.
