Now in its third year, Volksweald at Penshurst Place is a great up and coming show held in the South East of England. We sent Chris and Julian along to set up our Heritage Parts Centre stand and meet some show-goers. Here’s what they found!
Back to the roots
Set in 62 acres just outside Tonbridge, the grounds of the medieval ‘house’ play host to Volkswagens (and a few others) of all shapes and sizes for one weekend a year. Organised by Sam and the team from VWorks, this is their vision of the good old days, and we must admit, we loved it.
VW Buses of all generations gathered for the event, Splitscreen, Bay Window, T25, T4, T5 and T6.
Field of dreams…
There’s something to be said for a nice lawn, with lots of cars parked up.
It was no surprise that we saw plenty of cars we recognised from our Heretics meets; the event is only an hour from our front door, after all.
Flags, Fun and Festival Vibes
Hard work pays off
Stopping everyone in their tracks, and shaking up social media for weeks before hand was this awesome VW Beetle wing mini bike.
Bold colours are back!
Just like the old days, bold colours lit up the show field and campsite, even when the sun was hiding behind the clouds.
In the interests of fairness and the fact we had loads of cool shots of ‘monochrome’ cars too… here’s the other side of the argument!
We had a great time at Volksweald, the atmosphere and the cars were spot-on. We hope to make it back again in 2020 – 21st-23rd August, for those planning that far ahead!
